Just like home
Let’s color the streets like our own
Let’s make this place feel like our own
It’s just you and me,
It’s alright
‘Cause tonight
We’re gonna paint the town green
Just like home
Let’s color the streets like our own
Let’s make this place feel like our own
It’s just you and me,
It’s alright
‘Cause tonight
We’re gonna paint the town green

Paint the Town Green by The Script can describe that night well,
because the song is about someone who is missing home but they are far away
from it, however they can make any place like their home somehow.
The Script is
Irish band and green colour is symbolized to Irish Christianity. So, they paint
the town they live with green colour.
After meeting Thai students on Saturday at Losari beach, it turned
out they invited us to having dinner at their place on Sunday.
At 3.30 p.m. on Sunday, we were picked up by P’Sum one of Thai students
and we all took pete-pete to their place. When we got there, there are more 10 Thai
students. Some are studying master degree and some are studying undergraduate
at Universtas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar. They are from the south of Thailand.
Before having dinner we talked about our program, education, Thai news,
Indonesian culture, and they gave us useful information for living in Indonesia.
We kept talking until one topic that impressed me the most. It was when they
tried to find us. They said, they heard the news that there were other Thai
students at Makassar and would live for 6 months. So, they found the news on
the website of UNM and printed the picture. Then, they went out and showed the
picture to everyone as if they were looking for missing person. Finally, their
efforts have been paid off, they met us at Losari Beach.
The time that I’ve been waiting for has come, dinner time! But our
group must’ve separated the girls went to girls’ house and the boys went to
boys’ house. It’s fine with us; as long as we had Thai food and it’s free we
could go anywhere.
Even though, we only had Thai-style omelet and fried chicken with
chili paste. That was my best meal so far in Indonesia.
