Day 2: When We Have to Eat

After spending the night listening to the honking sound of Indonesia Traffic, now it was time for Aomsin and me to see it with our own eyes because it was morning! When the rest of us still slept the room, we decided to go around the hotel to find something to eat. Stepping out of the hotel door, the sound of honking was louder than we thought, the traffic seemed very busy, motorcycles scattered around the road. What a way to drive! I felt fearful of the traffic and the same time I respect all the drivers there because they are so good for driving. Though the traffic was very busy, but there wasn’t any accident happened. R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!!! Too bad I didn’t take any picture of the road. I think you have to see it with your own eyes because this is their charm. I like it.

We went down the pavement for finding some canteen or maybe food stall. And we found one; this canteen is called Café Gangnam. (By the way, I was told that Indonesia food is unreasonably spicy. Umm, no the taste of Indonesia food is quite sweet and sour. I've also noticed that almost every menu served with sliced lime, sweet sauce and the minced chili paste I believe it is called sambal.)  So we stepped inside and tried to read the menu. Unfortunately, it’s written in Bahasa Indonesia. We didn’t know what to do, but the food smelled so good and we were wanted to try something. Then, we point to the picture and it turned out they were Bukso and Pangsit. The dishes look like noodle in Thailand. Bakso has three beef balls and fried sour tofu with shred spring onion, while Paksit has fried wanton sheet and a bit of cantonese. Both dishes have seasoning with fried shred shallot.

At 11.00 o’clock we had an appointment in UNM. Today we introduced ourselves and giving publication as if we were superstar from Korea, because that room full of journalists and photographers.  That day was the first time we met Indonesian friends, and they will be exchange to Thailand on 22 January, as I recall. And we also met Ma’am Widya. While we were giving publication I told the press and the members of the meeting that my friend, Liew wanted to sing Thai song for everyone. And liew had to sing it in front of a big group of people in the room. My mission is complete for today. Haha

Nasi Beef Katsu
At 1 o’clock ma’am Widya and two Indonesia friends, Sulaiman and Irwan took us to Panakukung mall. I had my second meals there. It was Nasi Beef Katsu. At first glance, I thought it was Chicken Teriyaki. However, Sulaiman and Irwan recomended us to try Nasi Goreng Ayam (fried rice with chicken) which Aomsin tried it.

The rain has been falling since we were in Panakukung mall and when we got back to the room I found some surprising situation. There was water all over the floor! The roof was leak!! Whatttttt?!?!!! We moved from room 308 to 311. This room was way better, the television was perfect. I could watch Fox Sport, MTV, Fox Movie, Nickelodeon, and etc. This was real heaven. ^_^

Tomorrow we had another appointment at Athira Islamic School. Oh! I forget to tell you that 10 of us went to the same school. Hooray!!!!
